California State Games
The
California State Games are a statewide amateur sports festival that
is a grass roots program of the United States Olympic Committee.
The mission of the Games is to promote and nurture the
health, education, and well being of residents by managing a high
quality amateur sports event that encourages community participation
and provides an Olympic experience.
The "Winter
Games" is typically held during February and/or March each year with
the "Summer Games" held during July. The wide variety of sporting
events can be observed at different locations and venues throughout
the host city. The 'Games" kick off with an extravagant Opening
Ceremonies with a march of participating athletes, keynote speakers
and entertainment. Family and friends are encouraged to attend and
cheer on their favorite sportsmen, women and children.
