College
Programs
To create a structure that supports an “Olympic Athlete Pipeline”, High
Performance programs are essential. Currently the fundamental structure
of the Olympic Athlete Pipeline, only exist at the college level.
Approximately 125 schools have table tennis programs, but currently only a
few are fully funded with staff, athletic scholarships and competition
travel. One of the Foundation's most important short term objectives is to
support newly emerging high performance college programs. A strong
college structure will encourage the creation of other Olympic Pipeline
programs for younger athletes. (1) A financial
contribution of $70,000 toward a High Performance program in partnership
with a college of your choice will get a college program up and running
and cover start up fees and hard costs.
(2) To start the process
of developing daily training of younger athletes we need resident training
programs. The cost of these programs with 15 athletes and 2 coaches is
about $70,000 per year plus the cost of room and board.
Grants &
donations can also be earmarked for special purposes such as:
- Table Tennis
partnerships in elementary, middle and high school programs
- Elite athlete training
stipends
- Capital Funding to
build and maintain resident training centers
- Programs for seniors
that support of the Olympic Pipeline structure as active administrators,
volunteers, coaches, fans and donors.
